Light-weight Work announces the 2022 Art Pictures Annual exhibition of photographs by seniors in the Division of Film and Media Arts in the University of Visible and Doing Arts.
The exhibition operates by Thursday, March 10, at Light Operate, located in the Robert B. Menschel Media Centre, 316 Waverly Ave. A reception with the exhibiting artists will be held on Thursday, March 3, from 6-7 p.m. and is free of charge and open up to the public.

The exhibiting artists are Alice Adams, Luke Anaclerio, Lauren Bertelson, Marijke Pieters-Kwiers, Abigail Fritz, Corey Henry, Erik Liu, Qirui Ma, Paola Manzano, Tori Sampson, Keqin Wang and Sarah Winn. Artist and activist Jay Easy served as juror and picked photos for Most effective of Display and Honorable Point out awards. Sampson took Finest of Show honors, with Wang as Runner-up. The Honorable Mention award went to Pieters-Kwiers.
“Over the class of almost two decades what we have acknowledged as ‘normal’ has been disrupted, at moments for improved and for even worse. Through these times artists, like all those incorporated in this exhibition, have rededicated on their own to checking out, documenting, examining and partaking with facets of the human knowledge,” says Basic. “Looking into these times we come across the breadth and complexity of our up to date instant as we wrestle and try to arrive to terms with the mutuality of our isolation, the want for radical care of ourselves and the interactions and connections that we maintain dear. Melancholy and pleasure resonate in this house and trace that we will have to abandon a didactic aesthetic to embrace the nuanced complexity that occurs from what a buddy the moment known as ‘the bittersweet quality of getting alive.’ This is much from a defeated stance, and it is a recognition of the electricity artists have to show us our resiliency by adversity.”
